Published!!!! in This Month's Scrapbook Magazine

Hi all and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

I am SUPER CHUFFED today because a layout I put together for a DT project has been published in the current issue of  Scrapbooking Magazine!

The layout was based on the theme 'Brights' for the  CG Scrapbooking Challenge Blog  and used a favourite photo of a trip to Disneyland in California.

The  layout has the title 'Disneyland Love' and is a paper-based page. I have fallen in love with digital, but I still like to work with paper and embellishments and see what I can create.

My layout appears on page 15 of the magazine along with the Email message.

I am so pleased with this.

Thank you Scrapbook Magazine for publishing my layout.

Scrapbook Challenge - Children - CG Scrapbooking Blog

Hello Scrappers and crafty people, welcome to my DT post for the new challenge starting at  CG Scrapbooking Challenge Blog  and the theme is Children.

Our sponsors for this challenge is Scrappers Delight

 with a prize
of
1 scrap kit from Scrappers Delight!
FANTASTIC

For this DT layout I have used photoof 3 of my lovely niece. The photo was taken at Schloss NeueSchwannstein when they come to visit in 2007 ( I think).

I have used the digital kit that was offered as freebie some time ago by the Daily Digi to email subscribers. This kit is a sampler for different designers and must be, if not the first, then one of the first kits I downloaded and used in partnership with my Photoshop software to create my first digi pages.

I do love the colours :-) and the embellishments are cute.  At the moment I don't work with sketches as I tend to try various layouts and papers until I get what I am after.  I will need to start putting some sketches together, but for now, so far so good.

I do hope you take some time to  pop along to the CG Scrapbooking Challenge Blog and see the layouts designed by my clever and talented teamie.  The challenge is open to paper and digital scrappers, so have a go.  Make sure you check out the rules and then you're set.

Looking foward to seeing your layouts and drop by the Facebook page  Cards Galore ans CG scrapbooking   . we are always happy greet new members.

Thank you for your time and your comments.  As always every visit is appreciate.

Hope you are having a great day.

Hello all and welcome to my Scrapbooking blog.

I am celebrating my new Design Team spot  by posting my first ever scrapbook layout using the Kit from the Stamping Dragon Designs

Designer Janette  creates some wonderful and versatile digital scrapbooking kits that are a treat to work with.  I am looking forward to seeing what I can create with these lovely warm colours, elegant patterned papers and embellishments.

The kit I chose for ths layout is called Terracotta Delight and it works very well with the photo.  I do try not to clutter the page, trying to keep the focus on the photo and I found the kits flourish embellishments ideal for adding this focus.

The photo is one of my son and his girl-friend at a family event and I just love the expression on my son's face.  I think I'll call this page...'like the cat that got the cream'.   Smug or what?!   LOL

Thank you all for stopping by to visit and read my blog.  I really appreciate your taking the time and I love reading your comments.

Hope you are having a great day.

The Way We Were

Hello and thanks for stopping by to check out today's post.

My scrapbook page today is another digital effort and is based on a scanned photo I've  found.
It is a rare photo that has us all together so I had to have a go at scrapping it.

From right to left the family starts with me, Robert, Karen William, Eileen and Julie...and OMG! judging by my fabulous perm this must have been taken sometimes in the mid eighties.

The photo is in colour, but I had to tidy up some background noise such as washing line and the fence and swapping the colour to black and white helped to disguise the scratches and cracks in the original image.   The digital kit is from Bella Gypsy called 'Moody Blues' and I think it compliments the photo well. I also mixed in some elements from another Bella Gypsy kit 'Prepare to be'.

Must try to recreate this line-up with the title 'The Way We Are' and see how we have worn the last few years or twenty.

Thanks again for stopping in to read and comment on my scrapbooking blog. You time and comments are appreciated.

My First Post for my NEW Scrapbooking Blog!

Hi all and welcome to my Scrapbooking Blog.

Due to my  increased  interest in Scrapbooking, both traditional and digital, I have decide to set up a new blog dedicated just to my scrapbook layouts.  I mainly create cards, tags and ATCs with a bit of Altered Art  for good measure and I hold a few spots on DTs. But I have  been recently asked to join a Design Team especially for digital scrapping so I thought it was time to make the break.  My  Tintin Heart  blog was  really set up for my card-making and this new DT spot for the Stamping Dragon  highlighted the need to separate out the card-making from the Scrapbooking. So welcome again to my new blog and I hope you enjoy my first post.

My first layout is of  a photo taken of our dog Finn and to my mind he IS asking if we are drinking  Merlot. It is a flash back to the great film 'Sideways', where the main protagonist has a problem with a particular variety of wine. This scene still causes smiles in this house.

The layout was inspired by one I had seen on a Split Coast Stampers gallery. I loved the simple layout and the great negative space.  I can't find the original creator of this layout, but I do find the Split Coast site a great inspiration and a fountain of tips and ideas.

As this is my first post I am still tinkering with the layout and it is guarenteed that things will change until I am happy with my set-up. Watch this space.

Thank you for stopping by to visit and read my blog. I appreciate your time and comments .
