New Scrap Page - Rebecca

Hello and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

Today I am posting a scrapbook page I've made for my cousin who is poorly at the mo and I've selected a photo of his daughter Rebecca  as a 'Get Well' wish from me.

I have used the most recent freebie digital kit from Bella Gypsyto create this page. The monochrome photo pops rather well from the bright background. I also wanted to keep the number of embellishments low, just using enough to keep the focus on the photo.  The butterfly and foliage also came from Bella Gypsy , but chosen from other kits. I added the sentiment using the text feature in Photoshop, using three different font styles to create the Beautiful & Talented text.

Rebecca is a very talented singer with great ambition and has the looks to match.  Mum and Dad are very proud of their daughter and I hope I've done justice to this photo.

Thanks for stopping by to visit. I hope you like what you see and take time to leave a comment.

Anything Goes - New challenge at Stampin' with the Dragon

Hello and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

Today I am sharing my DT project for the new challenge starting over at the  Stampin' with the Dragon challenge blog with the theme 'Anything Goes'.

Stamping Dragon also sponsor the challenge and the lucky winner receives a voucher to spend in the online store!

I am using the new 'Forest Gathering' digital kit for this project along with the cute digital  stamp showing all the characters from the Stamping  Dragon Design's range. This kit is hot of the presses (digitally speaking) and is available in the store from today. Check out this kit here Dragons Lair. Remember, although I choose to use  the digital kits with my photo-editing software,  the papers and digital images can be printed  and used in the usual way to create cards and scrapbook pages.

Just love those  vibrant colours and the earthy greens

I wanted to try something different with this new kit and break away from the scrapbook page so I went (again) with a card topper.  I call it a card topper simply because I can resize the 'topper'  to fit the front of my chosen square card base and I have an instant card which can also be personalised with my trusty Photoshop.

I try to learn something new every week or so from my photo-editing software, which I can then use in create effects in my digital scrap pages or cards. This week was creating reflections.

I got the idea from the group of SDD  characters and the name fo the new kit, 'Forest  Gathering'.  I imagined the guys and gals, getting together  in the forest, to celebrate a special occasion and a nice spot near a pond sprang to mind.

I found my  Photoshop instructions through various Youtube demonstrations and with a little bit of my own inspiration I managed to create a decent reflected image that met with my idea quite well.  I am not sure if this can be repeated with some of the cardmaking and craft software on sale , but it is worth digging around to see what special effects your package can create. I then created the layered background using the backing papers from the kit

The new challenge starts today at Stampin' with the Dragon and we are eagerly awaiting to see what you can create with this ever popular theme 'Anything Goes'.  If you want to know more about the products the DT work with & about all the Stamping Dragon news, visit us on on our sister blog, The Dragons Den.

Stampin'with the Dragon - One for Dad challenge.

Hello and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

today as part of my DT Thursday at the Stamping Dragon Facebook Group  I am posting my  scrap page for the 'One for Dad' challenge currently running over at the  Stamping with the Dragon challenge blog. Stamping Dragon sponsor the challenge and.......

The prize for the winner is a £5 voucher to the

For this scrap page I am using the Stamping Dragons digital kit 'Luck of the Irish' to create a page of my Dad. Dad is sadly not longer with us but this is as good a photo it gets and this one is a family favourite.

The 'Luck of the Irish' digi kit colours and embellishments are just the ticket for this project. I love the tartan backing paper and the complimenting  solid colours of the kit work very well.  I used my banner clipping mask to create the three ribbon tags and added a decorative frame I found on a flyer that came through the door and scanned it. The row of shamrocks were created using the light green paper from the kit with the Cookie -Cutter shape in Photoshop. Some Buttons and the tartan ribbon tie the layout together. I like it and I think Dad would have too.

Don't forget to show your appreciation for all your Dads, Grandads and Great-Grandads this Fathers Day, 15th June - They deserve it.

So now it is over to you. Don't for get to add your link to your entry on the  Stamping with the Dragon  blog and good luck with the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to visit and read my blog. Your time and comments are appreciated.
