A New Page and a Challenge Entry

Hello and welcome to my Scrapbooking Blog.

My post to day is a a page I've made for a photo of my lovely DIL  from some holiday snaps taken in the US July 2007. Oldish photo I know but still a lovely shot in Black and White.  I've not seen my DIL or son (apart from  Skype) since December and we are missing them both vey badly. So when I came across this photo I had to scrap it.

I decided to try to use the sketch provided as much as possible and I've used papers and elements from a kit from the Bella Gypsy 'Dare to Be'  digi kit. It's full of great  embellishments and alphas. I also kept the layout simple to keep the focus on the photo.

Hope you like my layout and thanks for stopping by to visit my blog.

This  page is also entry for the  'Anything Goes' challenge number #24 over at Digitally Sweet challenge blog.

Thanks again for calling. Don't forget to leave your comments  and have a wonderful day!

CGS - Scrapbook Challange 3 - Use Blue

Hello and welcome to Frangipangie Scrapbooking Blog.

My post today is for the CG Scrapbook challenge are we asking entrants to us BLUE as an element in their page layout. Our sponsor for this challenge is the talented Debbi Taylor who is providing a prize of some super Stamping Up products for the lucky winner.

My page was inspired by a photo taken by my husband on one of our favourite walks and it shows the Bavarian countryside in summer with a fabulous blue sky that goes on for miles. My caption for this photo was spotted in a freebie digi-kit  from The Scraporchard called Moody Blues ( how appropriate) and it seemed to be right for this layout.

I would also like to enter this layout in the  Lasting Memories Resolutions challenge as I feel it fits with the theme. Most resolutions require a change in one way or another. Promises to do better, be better,  be fitter healthier and so on. So resolving to change one's direction in life has got to be one of the biggest Resolutions one can make.

Don't forget to pop over to Cards Galore Scrapbook Challenge (CGS)  to check out the other DT projects for the 'BLUE' challenge. Leave us a comment and maybe take part for the chance to win the prize.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by to read my blog. Delighted, as always;  to see you here and don't forget to leave a comment. I love to hear from you.

My card was made using the digital stamp and colouring with Copics markers. I then used the Tim Holtz Ornimental die to create the shape and edged the die cute with Copics to suggest a frame. I used the same die to cut another piece of paper in light brown to help the image stand out from the pale background. The image was popped onto a white card blank covered with a blue background paper from Andres Jayne 'Pamper Pets' range and embellished with blue buttons and  a green bow in complimentary colours. The sentiment 'With Love' is from a die-cut  sheet from the Do-Crafts 'Tulip' range.

Don't forget to follow the Blog Hop to collect your letters and add the codeword for your chance to win this great prize. AND where it says HERE, you will need to make it a link to the challenge blog.

Apple of My Eye

Hello again and welcome to my scrapbooking Blog.

I'm on a bit of a scrapbooking roll at the moment and spotting the new challenge at  Lasting Memories  I  thought I have a go at the 'Let's Get Fruity' theme.

A cute photo of my cousin at play and that splash of red colour caught my eye, so here goes.

I have only used this Miss Minty digi-kit once and the red colour of the playground slide brought it to me at once.  I really like the colours in this kit and the apple themed embellishments are very cute. Just the ticket for this page.

I am entering this page for  the Lasting Memories challenge

Thanks again for stopping by to read and comment. Your time and comments are appreciated.

Just Be You - Hannah

Hello and WOW!  two posts on the same day.

This is my cousin's little girl Hannah with a Butterfly painted on her face. You gotta love that smile and those curls ! Absolutely adorable!  So I had to try to scrap this great photo.

Hannah

As I  posted previously I am hampered in my crafty persuits by a  lack of general crafting  kit so I am feeding the crafty urges with some digi-scrapbooking and a wonderful selection of photos from relatives and friends. I have got some other photo gems to work with and this should keep me happy until I get my new craft-space set-up and I am reunited with all my lovely papers, embossing folders and ribbons and die-cuts and.......not too long now :-)

Again I am using a Scrap Orchard kit from Bella Gypsy , their 'Dare to Be' digi-kit. The kit has loads of great embellishments and some great wordart as well as a good selection of backing papers in solids and patterns.  Can't really say enough about how much I DO  like the digi-kits on offer here.

I tried to keep the colours palette to those in the photo, picking up on the yellow of the butterfly and that fabulous red hair Hannah shares with her sisters.  I hear that Hannah approves of this page and that makes me happy.

Thanks again for your visit and don't forget to leave me a comment.  Your time and comments are always appreciated.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ...

...Ice Cream!

Ha ha... let me introduce you to  Noah who, as you can see, loves his Ice Cream.  I spotted this photo and I had to have a go at scrapping it. Cute face and a great little memento of what appears to have been a fun lunch!

Noah

I am crazy to get back crafting again, but as I am in transition from one house to another, I don't have my complete craft-room with me and I am a bit stuck. All of my scrapbooking sized papers are in storage (still) and I am pretty sure the embellishments, buttons and ribbons are in the same box  :(
But the beauty of digital is that I can  work on a lay-out as long as I can use my computer and access my external drive where I store all my digi stuff. That's the theory, but apparently you have to access to the internet first to get the downloads and the photos and .... another long story :-)

But we are firing on all cylinders today and I  managed to get some crafting done. I have used backing paper and elements from the latest freebie called 'Stud Muffin'  that was  kindly given  by Bella-Gypsy-Designs  to their Facebook followers and couple of elements from other kits that I have bought through their on-line store the Scrap Orchard.. I am a big fan of the digi-kits supplied by Scrap Orchard. and there are some great ideas for layouts too.

I quite like this page and it has been well received by Noah and that's good enought for me!

Hoping you are having a good day wherever you are.

Thank you for stopping by to check and read  my blog.  Your time and comments are appreciated.
