Easter Scrap page - Stamping Dragon Designs Challenge

Hello and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

Today is the start of the new challenge over at   Stamping Dragon Designs and the theme is EASTER.
Stamping Dragon Designs also sponsor the challenge and the winner receives a voucher to spend on wonderful digital papers and scrap kits in their on line store.

I have chosen the Spring digital paper kit to create this layout with space for 3 photos and I have also added some digital images, an Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs, in keeping with the challenge theme.

My page was made with one of the delicate backing papers from the kit and I complemented the paper with a solid square picking up the lilac shades of the paper. I anchored the frames to the right-hand bottom of the layout by adding the wreath of coloured crocus and pink satin effect ribbons. The addition of the digital photo-corners help to focus on the photo-frames and the extra flowers help to group all the elements together.  I used my paint-pot tool to add colour to the rabbit and the easter eggs, keeping the colours in line with the layout. Result, a nice bright and cheery layout to help chase the gloom out of what will be a chilly Easter.

Visit the Stamping Dragon Designs  challenge blog to see the great inspirational projects from the DT team. Great Stuff!! and don't forget to visit us on Facebook and take part in our group.

My DT Thursday with 'DIGI' scraps

Hello ans welcome to my Scrapbook page,

Toda< my DT post is my different scrapbook page layout using digital to create a page that  would normally be made using traditional methods and with 'scraps'

I chose the Terracotta digi kit from Stamping Dragon Designs to 'cut pieces of paper to fit into my page that had been divided into a grid pattern.   I had seen something similar in a scrapbook magazine and this is where I got my idea.

The other idea came from a qoute I saw on Pinterest and I got me thinking as to how I could incorporate the text into a layout.

My page was created in Photoshop with the background given a  pearl gradient colour to keep it neutral. I then used the flourish from the Terracotta kit  as an overlay to give a bit of texture to the background. I then cut some swatches from the digi papers and added a brad and a cut-out butterfly to the assortment on the page. I finished by adding in the text in different coloured fonts.

I like the random placing and I had fun adding the bits and pieces and trying not to overdo-it.

Yep. I am pleased with it. Might try it in paper next time.

Thank for taking the time to stop by and read my blog . I look forward to hearing from you.

The REAL Paddy's DAY - Lasting Memories Challenge- Use GREEN

Hello and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

My second post today is a digital scrapbook page of my husband celebrating his 60th birthday ( I'm sure he won't mind me telling you his age) in March 2012.  Born on the 15th of March and called Patrick, he takes birthdays seriously and makes sure that the name Patrick, saint or not , is well known round about.

In 2012 we lived in Germany and we marked this milestone occassion with a delicate soiree, inviting the neighbours to an afternoon of watching Ireland play Rugby, followed by some lessons in Irish dancing and ending the evening with  renditions of well known Irish ballads helped a long with a few drops of the Uisce Beatha ( Water of life) or Whisky if you like and  the sinking of a fews pints of the black stuff.   A good time was had by all if the aftermath was to be believed and we promised to do it all over again the next time Pat has a 60th!   Livers and kidneys probably needed that time to recover.

It was a great day and a great way to celebrate with family and friends in what has passed into the history of a little german village that may well never recover from the invasion of Celts.

For this layout I've used papers from Janette Padley's digi scrap kits from Stamping Dragon. I created the green and gold banner using my photoshop cookie-cutter and a journallind card from another freebie kit( sorry I can't remember from where.

This is my entry for the  Lasting Memories use Green challenge currently running over at their blog.

Thanks for stopping by to visit and read my blog. I love hearing from you so don't forget to leave me a comment.

DT Thursday - It's A Dog's Life.

Hello all and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

Today , Thursday , is mx DT spot for Stamping Dragon Designs and I am continuing the current challenge theme with ' It's a Dog's Life'.

My digi kit comes from the Stamping Dragon range called  ' Pastel Swirls' and I have used the kit to show off this photo of Finn keeping watch while we are on holiday.

I tried to get my layout to show the great expanse of Spanish countryside on view so I chose to crop the photo to a landscape format and enlarged it to fit across the middle of a 12x12 canvas. I also chose a mediteranian colour combnation to set up the photo and to pick up on the bright sunshine and warmth of our holiday roost.   I added  bronze and green gem flourish and a piece of  ribbon to anchor the photo on the page. Both elements are part of this kit too.  I then 'tore' a piece from another digi paper and used this to decorate the top left-hand corner to balance the page.  I added some paw prints, a title and text to finish the layout. Not a bad layout I think :)

I know I keep banging on about digi-kits but I have found them so versatile and good value. Also so easy on the storage.  I use photoshop, some prefer other photo manipulating applications, but whatever you use, I think digi- kits for scrapbooking are a revelation!  I think I'm going over to the Dark Side of Scrapbooking.

Don't forget to pop over to the Stamping Dragon  blog to check out the challenge and remember your entry does not have to be a scrap page. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for stopping by to visit and read my blog. Your time and comments are appreciated.

It's a Dog's Life - Stamping Dragon Designs Challenge

Hello and welcome to my Scrapbooking Blog.

Today my post is for the new Challenge starting over at  Stamping Dragon Designs and the theme is ' It's a Dog's Life'.

Stamping Dragon are sponsoring the challenge and the lucky winner will be the recipient of  a voucher worth £5 to spend in the on-line store.

In keeping with the 'It's a Dog's Life' challenge I chose the digital stamp 'Rocky' and themed him with the 'Mood for Love' digital scrapbooking pack and used them to create a page for our dog Finn.

I have coloured the digital image using my Photoshop colours, paint pot and brushes Taking care to blend the colours I added some shading to help Rcoky stand out from the page.  I used the papers from the 'Mood for Love' digi kit and made a frame for the photo and pointed circle from different backing papers to add interest to the page. I also created the label for the text to go with the page from cream coloured backing paper in the same kit.  Today I love Photoshop....other days.........  LOL

Pop along to  the Stamping Dragon Designs  challenge website and take a look at the other wonderful DT projects and take a shot at  the challenge. You never know...it might be you.

Don't forget Stamping Dragons Designs are actively looking for new DT members and would welcome hearing from you.

My DT Thursday - Vintage Treasures - Stamping Dragon Designs

Hello and welcome to my Scrapbooking blog.

This is my quick post for my DT spot at Stamping Dragon Designs and today I am using the Vintage Treasures digi kit for  my digital layout.

As my intended photo is Black and White with some Sepia tones I chose a dark background to compliments the photo and I have made some digital embellishments using some of papers from the same kit.
the pink 'torn' paper is really a cropped paper in two layers and digitally torn to create the effect. I then made my green flower with the 'cookie cutter'  tool from Photoshop and docorated it with a ribbon embellishment from the kit. I used the framed image to create my frame and then used the same image to add as an embellishment along with some Vintage Roses  cropped from the kits.

Quite happy with the result.

Stamping Dragon - DT Thursday

Hello and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

this is my first post for the Stamping Dragon DT  spot which highlights a different DT member each weekday and Thursday is all mine!

Today I am posting a scrapbook page I made using the 'Mood for Love' digi kit from the Stamping Dragon Designs range and it also goes with this weeks theme 'Anything Goes'.

Can't say enough about the discovery of digital scrapbooking and what it has meant to me. I love the flexibility that digi kits give you.

I chose some neutral backing paper to help push the vibrant colours of the swatches I digitally cut from the complimentary colours in the paper pack.  I teamed this with the fab embellishments that come with the pack and used the Ribbons and Rivets to create the laced effect on the layout.

The subject is one of my favourites, my lovely DIL enjoying her trip to the Big Apple.

Take a trip ove to the Stamping Dragon Designs site to check out the great kits there. Lots to choose from and I love the value you can get from a well designed digi kit.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog. Looking forward to reading you comments and your next visit

Stamping Dragon Designs - Digital Layout and DT Call

Hello all and welcome to my scrapbooking blog.

My post today is for the Stamping Dragon Challenge blog and the theme is 'Anything Goes'.   I have chosen a Pot Mum digital stamp from the Stamping Dragon Designs range to use as a feature in a digital scrapbook layout....

and here it is.

Thanks to Stamping Dragon I got a chance to work on this digi image with my photoshop software and get to know more about the way of digital 'colouring'. I was really pleased with the outcome even though it took a bit of time and effort. Well worth it!

With photoshop I was then able to resize the image and 'cut' some flowers to use as embellishments which enhanced the scrapbook page below.
The final image was added to a the 'Mood for Love' digi kit also availabe from Stamping Dragon online shop and I love how the background makes the colours pop! I also love how flexible the digital scrapbooking kits are. I do love my traditional scrap pages, but as I am just now with limited space and access to my crafting kit, digital is super to help me get on with my scrapping!

This page was made with my Mum in mind for Mother's Day. I just need to find the right photo now.

Please take some time to pop alonmg to the  Stamping Dragon   to check out the wonderful  DT projects and look into the Design Team call.  All well worth the visit!

Thank you all again for stopping by to read my blog. Looking forward to reading your comments.
